Tom Wilson served as a university and art organization chief philanthropy officer and has created successful campaigns from inception; turned around stalled initiatives; and provided leadership to organizational and board leadership. He provides guidance to fundraising staff, provides perspective to nonprofit leaders to help manage their organizations, and encourages board members to realize their potential as volunteers in the fundraising process.

Tom provides fundraising training at conferences throughout North America and is a certified facilitator for Peter Drucker’s The 5 Most Important Questions self-assessment tool. His two most recent workshops include From Fuzzy to Sticky: Messages that Motivate Board Members & Prospective Donors and Leadership Challenge: Managing Your Foundation Staff and Board. His first book, Winning Gifts: Make Your Donors Feel Like Winners, was published by John Wiley & Sons with the endorsement of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Publishing Committee.
Tom trained as a musician and educator (clarinet, saxophone and conducting – high school, youth orchestra, and community symphony). He and his wife Sue enjoy sailing on the Oregon Coast on their 35’ sloop Ihlabela.
